Eggs have gotten an unfounded bad rap. It has been said that they found out through some tests that eating eggs will elevate the levels of cholesterol in your body. This means that the more eggs you cook, the more cholesterol you accumulate in your body.
So, should I avoid eating eggs like avoiding the plague?
The latest research shows that they, the eggs that are on the spotlight, don’t actually contribute to high cholesterol. In fact, eggs are an inexpensive source of many nutrients, including zinc and iron, antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin, vitamin D, and the brain-boosting chemical choline.
Our liver is the primary organ responsible for the production of cholesterol in our body, although a small amount is made by the lining of the small intestine and the individual cells of the body. Cholesterol-rich food intake does not always mean that we will accumulate more of it in our system.
Although Cholesterol sounds very bad, it is not as bad as we all think it is. Our body needs some cholesterol to make hormones, vitamin D, and substances that help you digest foods.
To keep cholesterol in check, it is best that you monitor saturated fat in your diet instead. Enjoy eating your eggs! :P
